Sundays with Santa

Hey, anyone want to come over and help me get to my Christmas stuff? I am so bummed. Most of my Christmas stuff is still in the rafters of our garage. My hubby hasn't gotten to put the shelves in our storage shed and so we can not get to the rafters for all the stuff in the way. I don't even remember all that is up there, it's been so long since we could get to it. You all will get Christmas stretched out from me because it will be after Christmas when I get to it more than likely.

And so here is another Sundays with Santa from me, hopefully. A video of the last auction I went to. Didn't buy anything but if they had gotten to Christmas things a lot sooner I would have, more than likely. I was liking that Santa cookie jar and the Santa figurine!

Pretty Wrapping Paper!

Here is a present (for me) wrapped in the prettiest wrapping paper! This is pretty close to my favorite colors. Look at the purple and the blues and the green (turquoise is my favorite).

Finally Lookin' Like Christmas Around Here!

We finally got our tree up.  If this was a normal year it would be up the day after Thanksgiving.  My sweet hubby bought a new TV that would go in our bedroom and the one from the bedroom went into the living-room, temporarily  leaning on the couch where the tree would go in front of.  Anyway, finally all is where it should be so we could get on to the decorating!!  Go to this link for a slide show of our tree.  Our cats had to make sure to be right there in the midst of it all.  Go to this link for kitty pictures.  My hubby helps and I do appreciate it.  We do simple as you can see.  Most everything we have are from auctions.  My hubby had some decorations when we were married and I had no decorations for Christmas because I would always go home for Christmas or I was living with my parents and loved my parents decorations from my childhood which are vintage now. Here are some extra pictures:

Movie Review - Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1964)

We watched Santa Claus Conquers the Martians and it is... well, here is one of the reviews (which gave it  5 stars) from Netflix, it pretty much says how I feel about this movie:

Mars needs a Santa for its children so they decide to take ours. However, old Saint Nick proves to be more than a handful for the Martians and everything they can throw at him. This movie is so gloriously bad that it comes back around to being good again. Then keeps right on going back to bad and then comes around to good a second time. If cheeze and tackiness and bad special effects are what you're after, this movie delivers. 

I think this is one of those movies you gotta watch at least once, if for nothing else, to see what's so bad about it.  It has it's funny parts, sometimes from being so fake-y, OK most of the time from being so fake-y.  The polar bear scene is especially funny!  You will have to watch it to see what I am talking about.

Maureen at Yuletide Seasonings is doing Sundays with Santa. I went to Goodwill the other day to look for an awful looking Christmas sweater for Christmas eve get together at my sister-in-law's. I found a regular sweater and then found some Christmas pins to wear on it. I love this Santa pin!

Sundays With Santa

Well, I finally have my picture ready (helps to have a hubby that is good with these kind of things). I bought this Santa yesterday at the craft show. I chose a small Santa that is about 3 inches tall,the tree is about 5 inches tall. I love his sweet face, don't you?

Oh and his eyes are closed because he is so tired. You would be too if you were working around the clock to make a December 25th deadline!

Halloween Funny

I know this is a Christmas blog but I thought I would share something for Halloween.

You know you are too old to Trick or Treat when:

10. You get winded from knocking on the door.
9. You have to have another kid chew the candy for you.
8. You ask for high fiber candy only.
7. When someone drops a candy bar in your bag, you lose your balance and fall over.
6. People say: "Great Boris Karloff Mask,"
And you're not wearing a mask.
5. When the door opens you yell, "Trick or..." And can't remember the rest.
4. By the end of the night, you have a bag full of restraining orders.
3. You have to carefully choose a costume that won't dislodge your hairpiece.
2. You're the only Power Ranger in the neighborhood with a walker.
And the number one reason Seniors should not go Trick Or Treating...
1.. You keep having to go home to pee.

A Christmas Carol at La Comedia

An early Christmas present from my Sweet Hubby is getting to see A Christmas Carol at the La Comedia Dinner Theater! We are going to the matinee on December 10th. Last year we saw White Christmas, it was very good! So looking forward to this one!

I gotta love my Hubby!

Today while driving home from lunch hubby and I were talking about the shed he built which made me think of the Christmas stuff in the garage that will go in there which made me think of this blog. :o) He started talking about a kendal touch he saw was now $99 and I ask if he was going to use some of the money he has. He goes "I'm just giving you ideas for Christmas, with the Christmas music and your Christmas blog it has me thinking about Christmas." This is huge! He is one of those people that doesn't want to do anything Christmas related until the day after Thanksgiving. This may be a temporary phenomenon but that won't keep me from relishing in it.

Side note:
The Christmas music he was talking about was a neighbor, last night, had their music on so he could hear and it was the song "Up On the Housetop". (Wish I knew which neighbor it was so we could talk Christmas.)

This is a great video!

If you listen to this you just may start getting in the Christmas spirit. Just sayin'.

A CHRISTMAS STORY trailer

For those who love the movie A Christmas Story this sounds like something you will love.  A Christmas Story House in Cleveland, Ohio.  I never really liked that movie so much that I would go to this but I know it is a classic and my husband loves it so maybe one day we will go.  Go here for reviews on this house.  If you go or have gone in the past leave a comment and tell me what you thought of it.


...and tell me what was your favorite scene? Mine has to be when they are in the Chinese restaurant and the staff are singing "fa rarara ra ra ra ra" lol, so funny!
